This picture is for my mother. The song above is one by Metallica, the Unforgiven 3, and I feel it explains my mom in almost every way. If you can, please listen to it here: [link] The song is talking about a man in pursuit of himself, facing trial after trial, sometimes making poor choices, some of which make him lose things dear to him. In the end, he asks for forgiveness with himself. It's a very powerful song, I think.

She's had alot of bad things happen to her, alot of those things which she didn't deserve, she just happened to be involved far enough to get hurt. But what can you do? You either move on and try to make the best of it or you just give up, and, trust me, my mom always does the first.

You aren't lost at all, mom. You didn't fail. And as for forgiving yourself for things you have done wrong, or thought you've done wrong, screw it and just forget those things. You've proven yourself to be the best mom any daughter could ask for. The people in our lives that can't see that don't deserve to, so don't beat yourself up over them. They'll never understand. But I love you no matter what, and I don't care what you've done in the past or the things you've had to do, the decisions that cost you so dearly. They meant something to you then, so they'll mean something to me.
